Is Festiplan free?
Yes. Creating an account and planning parties are free, and your guests don’t need an account to reply.
How do I find out when my friends are throwing a party?
Add them as friends on Festiplan: the parties they open to their friends appear in your “Discover” tab and on the map, with the spots left. You ask to come in one tap, and the host accepts or declines. Their private parties stay reserved for their guests.
Do my guests need to install an app?
No. Festiplan works in the browser on a phone or computer: a guest opens the link they received, replies and picks what they’ll bring. Nothing to install.
How do I stop everyone bringing the same thing?
Each need (drinks, desserts, chairs…) shows live what’s promised, what’s been brought and what’s still missing. Everyone sees what’s left to plan before going shopping.
How do I split the cost of a party?
Everyone records what they paid, split equally or with a custom breakdown. Festiplan works out who owes what to whom, to the cent, and suggests the fewest possible transfers. No payment goes through Festiplan.
How do I pay a friend back after the party?
Festiplan works out who owes what to whom. Tap “Pay back”: PayPal opens with the right amount (if your friend added their PayPal.me), or their IBAN appears to copy; then tap “I’ve paid”. Their payment details are only shown to people who owe them money, and no payment goes through Festiplan.
Will Festiplan send me emails?
Only the ones you choose, when you sign up and at any time in “My account”: invitations, a change of date or place, a reminder the day before, what you’re asked to bring, friend requests… Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also get these updates as notifications on your phone (on iPhone: from Festiplan added to your home screen).
Can we organise carpooling?
Yes: in each party, people coming by car offer their seats, a starting point and a time; others book theirs in one tap. The seats left are always up to date.
Can several people organise together?
Yes: add co-hosts from your friends or the participants. They can manage everything (details, guests, requests, needs, budget) except deleting the party.
Can I host a party at a friend’s place?
Yes: choose “At a friend’s” from your Festiplan friends. If they’ve shared their address for this, it’s added to the party; otherwise you can give them organiser rights so they can fill it in.
Who can see my party?
You choose: private (only invited people), visible to your friends and your co-hosts’ friends, or public to Festiplan members. Until they’ve signed up, they see an approximate location (within ~1 km); the exact address is reserved for participants, unless you choose to show it (handy for a bar).
Can a bar or venue publish its events?
Yes. Create your venue’s page and publish your karaoke, quiz, concert or after-work nights: members discover them near where they live and ask to come.
